Hello and welcome back to
This is a podcast on how to be successful in applying to
medical and graduate programs. 和一天, we're going to talk about being the
But first, I'll introduce 我自己. My name is Natalie Nunez.
I am one of your co-hosts.
夏天s went like, what is this summer? How does it feel to be back?
是的,我 mean I can go ahead because a Ph.D程序. Your 夏天s Don't Stop In
I'm just in love, doing research spending maybe a week.
like, exploring New York State hanging out with my fiance, Our family and
our friends, probably attending a few weddings, 正确的? 因为 everyone's in
那 mode of getting married and having babies. But Christina, what about you?
What did you do this summer? So the 道路 it works for us when you're in
medical 学校, at least here at 推荐最近最火的赌博软件, you get one summer off in between
your first and second year 那 you can pretty much use to do 无论 you
Some people do choose to do certain programs. Some people do research,
pretty much the world is your oyster in 那 道路. So what I did is I stayed in
Syracuse because I'm from, I'm from Syracuse originally, I was a teaching
assistant for the upstate accelerated Scholars Program.
listening and is 感兴趣 那 program, definitely go online to up State's
It's basically a BS 2 MD track where 推荐最近最火的赌博软件 has
partnered with various 大学s. So I was a teaching assistant
for 那 program so 那 got me some 导师hip experience.
clinical fellowship at the hospital with the psychiatric team.
work with doctors, I worked with psychologists 在那里, the resident, the medical
I saw patients, I wrote 不es, I did all sorts of stuff
在那里, and I also took time to relax. I spent 很多 of time with friends and a
lot of 一天 trips all around New York, went to Ithaca In been 在那里 in a long
time, which was 伟大的. How about you Natalie nice.
which was an amazing experience. I spent 很多 of quality time with my family
and friends and I did do a little bit of research. I worked on a review paper
with some friends from a不her medical 学校. So I got a little bit of work
done but overall it was very relaxing and I came back feeling so refreshed and
ready to like start a Mist who. 是的,我'm very grateful for good.
是的,我 went to Munich Germany to
I highly recommend one of my high 学校 friends lives
And 那 was like, my time alone, which was 伟大的.
now we'll transition into like, what we're going to talk about to一天, which is
being the 家族第一 追求, a medical degree or PhD.
by sharing what our family does and how it might have like influenced us to
pursue what Doing Britney.
is a public health program nurse for the central region of New York State's
And from what I understand is 那 my mom just kind of
goes to different Health Department's around Central New York evaluates their
programs and helps them improve if necessary. 和我 believe I've talked about
this before but my father is a physics teacher here in Syracuse at a high 学校
called Westchester High School and 我认为 science just has al道路s Has been in
discussing it but my mom and dad both fostered, a science medical education. In
fact, my mom actually got me into viruses which is what I study but because she
is in the public health field 那 were able to look at viruses bacteria, heavy
metals overall education in public health and how to keep you and your family.
So I knew 那 I loved science and public health.
of just ended up in a field 那 does both, are you Christina? 所以我
like Brittany, I didn't have anyone. In my family who was, in the medical
field, I had one of my mom's friends was a nurse when I was growing up, but
那's pretty much it. I actually was the first person in my family to go to
So I was a freshman 大学 student as 好吧. My mom is a hairdresser.
我认为, for me the 道路 那 That influence me was she al道路s instilled in
me the concept of financial Independence 那 no matter where 生活 took me or
where I ended up or what my situation was 那 I should al道路s be able to
support 我自己 even if I choose even if the other 一天 I chose 不 to work and
to stay at home and take care of a family 那 I would al道路s have 那 option
at my disposal to be able to support 我自己. Obviously, I did 不 choose to
stay at home and take care of a family, 那's 不 the choice 那 I made, but
我认为 那 concept of Independence, really helped shape me into the person
first person in my family to go into 医学, was just the the necessity for
me to advocate for 我自己, 你知道, 很多 of people in our class and I'm sure
grandparents, are, 你知道, generations of doctors and or people in the
medical field and their Lee which is 伟大的. 我认为 那 那 speaks to how
生活style, which 我认为 is awesome. But 你知道, for me, I didn't have a
parent or a grandparent who could call up their med 学校 roommate and be
like, hey, can my grand daughter? You like, I had to do 那 all
So, for anyone who's listening? 我认为 number one, take advantage of
I had a 伟大的 career center at my high 学校 and
I can, And of go into later on in this episode, how I used 那 to my disposal
on how I form connections 在那里. But, 你知道, it can be as simple as just
having a meeting with 你的学校 guidance, counselor for 20 minutes and being
like, this is what I 想要 to do. Do 你知道, of any programs 那 I might be
我认为 advocating for yourself is extremely 重要的 because,
你知道, when you're in high 学校, you have people who are responsible for
helping you along and guiding you, 你知道, you have guidance counselors at
form those opportunities and kind of pave your 道路. And it's, 你知道, if you
really take advantage of those opportunities so 的事情 will come your 道路, but
how about you Natalie? 是的,我'm glad you mentioned 那 很多 of other
students have people in their families or in their social networks family,
friends, 的事情 like 那, who have been able to help them because I really do
think 那 we're in the minority here. 和我 just realized 那 which actually
surprised me a little bit, but to give you a little bit of mine.
mom's a high 学校, biology teacher. She actually came to United States when
saw her go from, like, being a restaurant server. 喜欢,我 was to becoming a
biology teacher and she had to get a masters degree and, 你知道, pursue other
But since I was little, she really fostered in me like the
inherent reward of learning. They just al道路s got excited about, like, new developments
but it feels good to understand how 的事情 work and to my these connections, I
think we can all agree on 那 and her love of science.
It's just like instinctual to us so grateful for 那.
influenced me to pursue a scientific career. 和我的 dad, he's al道路s on small
and came back and he was in high 学校. So he also I kind of had to
start from the bottom himself, and he was very successful in his various
Is one thing 那 he's al道路s instilled in me and he's al道路s
motivational speakers and 的事情 like 那. 是的, it since I was little I've
al道路s heard these 的事情 about your mindset and how 重要的 那 is to
succeeding and overcoming 障碍 and 的事情 like 那. 我想我
really got my work ethic from him 那 my son so cool. 我认为 那's so true.
What you said about your mindset. 我认为 那 the 道路 那 you talk to
yourself every一天 really matters. 和我 talked about 那 with my friends
I feel very grateful for 那. 所以
we're all doing 的事情 那 are very different from what our families did. I
wonder how are your family has reacted? When you told him 那 you were
追求 what you're doing when you start?
time.
cheerleaders at this 点. At this stage, the game now 我是谁 two years at
It entails to go to medical 学校. They just kind of, 你知道, I'll be
talking about a test, I'll be like, Oh, I'm stressed, I eat.
I'm 不 going to do 好吧 or 无论 and they'll be like, oh, you're the
I'm like, 我做n't 知道 about 那, but
my family, really, the bottom line has done for me. I mean, I've done so many
for me, School and doing all this fun stuff is 不 because I was the best
at math or the kid at the science. Fair, who al道路s won the ribbons and
I've gotten this far because they
taught me these basic principles about how to be successful in 生活 那 I've
just carried me through. I remember I got my first job when I was in high
and she was just telling me 那 no matter what You're doing no matter what
You 知道, you're never going to be overqualified for any job.
There's al道路s an opportunity to learn. There's al道路s an opportunity to better
yourself and to learn something.
how my families impacted me for sure.
my family, I was 追求 医学, they were like ecstatic, 你知道, like
mentioned before, so I found my 道路 later in 生活. Well, 你知道, later than
most people 那 aren't doing this. So, they were, 你知道, very relieved, and
course, 你知道, 在那里 are some people who don't understand anything, 那's
part of being the 家族第一 is, is kind of Alone in 那 sense, like
definitely have people 那 have asked me like, oh, why don't you try nursing
就像 me, are you going to be in 学校 for so long and all
But this is what I chose and
你知道, I thought a 很多关于 it and yeah, they're they're really supportive
supportive they are and understanding and yeah, they see you.
Have you ever gone the
question of like, oh, aren't you worried? You're 不 going to have time with
your family or why don't you pursue, 你知道, being a PA or being an MP or
potentially like, 就像 up to nine years of residency, depending on what 我做.
But this is like an investment for my future. I'll have more
If I invest now, unless I'm really happy like I love what
tough to answer those questions.
actually transitions very 好吧 until my family reacted like so I'm 不 new to
高等教育, like 那 secondary diploma after your bachelor's because my
dad had to go to graduate 学校 for his 硕士 and my mom was 追求 a
damn, I 想要ed to see what the next step in my career was.
try going to graduate 学校. My parents are both very impressed and they
al道路s push me to get a higher degree Beyond bachelors. As they knew 那 if I
did 那, I would set 我自己 up for so many more opportunities.
fiance's family did 不 react the same 道路. Actually, when they found out 那
So for 56 years of graduate 学校, they were kind of
那's what They did 那's what their children did and I believe, I'm like the
first one in my family and in his family to go to graduate 学校 for a PhD,
understand and for me to explain to them like how I'm doing this for the
betterment of me and like what I 想要 to do and like the long run but also its
setting up what I feel my family for Success.
children showing them like I'm able to get through this career. 这些是
the opportunities 那 I had and this is then set you up for success as 好吧.
So you can look up to someone who's been to graduate 学校 as their PHD or
like, you guys are empty and you're able to Mentor them.
love how you guys are kind of painting this. 喜欢,它's a calling more so than
是的,我 totally, I totally agree with 那. 这完全
tracks with me, but 我认为 from now on after Actually, after 这个播客,
Someone asked me like, 你知道, why did you 不 choose to become a PA and it's
不 because, 你知道, those people making enormous sacrifices 好吧 and, you
知道, 那's, 你知道, 那's 不 to minimize their sacrifices and their hard
But I just think my calling is 不 to be 要么 one of those
My car is to be a physician so it's as simple as 那.
something bigger out 在那里 那 you 想要ed 尝试. So sure, enough, I mean, at
least 那's my motto, 正确的?
same vein, how did you guys find out about your careers?
I'll just say it when I was little, I
想要ed to be a dermatologist. I didn't 知道 really fascinated with skin and I
was like, al道路s, like trying to get my family facials, only chasing them down
because I had no idea what 那 entailed. 喜欢,我 didn't realize it was like so
many years of 学校 and 无论 it's times like a cool thing to do, but it
was later in 生活 when I actually lived on my own.
stability on my own 那 I realized I 想要ed to pursue 医学 and it was
really working with kids with special needs and like just seeing different
pathologies and volunteering with doctors where I was able to see this amazing
career and recognize 那 在那里 is a need for people like me in this field. So
marriage of like science and Humanities. 就像 I love working with people and I
get to like, solve complex So this is like my dream job honestly because I just
feel like I can do everything I 想要 to do. I get to work with people, I get to
learn, I get to do cool 的事情. 是的, you're very passionate about. 我做
feel like you said Christina it was a calling 那 found me.
lucky and how about you guys? How did you learn about this career?
think for me, kind of just to Echo what you said, I wouldn't say 那 one of
我认为 it all started when I was in high 学校 and I was
Kind of toying around with the idea of doing a bunch of different 和我
booked a meeting with my career advisor. 就像 everyone in my, my grade was
assigned one and she told me about this program through crowds Hospital, which
is actually 正确的 next door to help say I pass it every 一天.
Could go in and every month, 在那里 was a different doctor in a different area
of 医学 who would talk to you. 和我've kind of talked about this before on
Really liking biology and in high 学校.
Everybody talked about it. Everybody was afraid of it because it was so it was
tough and very arduous. But I remember doing 好吧 in 那 class, even though it
was really difficult and I really liked 那, feeling 那 I could do something
那 was hard 那 no one else 那 I knew had done like 那.
所以, 是的,我 think I just from Men on, I took an
anatomy and physiology class in high 学校 那 a local high 学校 was
offering over the summer. I talked to doctors like whenever a doctor would come
in and present to our 学校 or 无论. What have you, I would al道路s stay
after and talk to them. And really try to get my finger on the pulse of what
their job was like and what they were saying and I just kind of one thing led
this 一天, I I could 不 imagine 我自己 doing anything else.
better than this for me. So, how about you Brittany?
And undergraduate, everyone has a doctor for other name,
Either it's a PhD or an MD. 所以 I knew of PhD 学校 and my friends
at the time where you're older than me, they had all applied and got in to phc
学校 so I was like, yeah, why 不? 就像 I was kind of more naive about it. I
talked to some faculty and they were like you, 你知道, this like this is
really, this can be really grueling and I was like, oh, I'll see what happens.
所以 when I got in and then, 你知道, first year comes second year, comes I
go, I can do one more year. Oh, I can al道路s Master off.
can graduate in six months. 所以,这是 很酷的 and it's
Think I'd imagine it any other
是的 我认为 you have to like love a challenge to
是的 you have to love the one thing I didn't realize
before I got here you really truly have to love learning. You learn a new study
as a church or maybe you're going to do 好吧, 伟大的, but you're 不 going to
enjoy like you have to really be fascinated by 的事情 to do this and go of it.
Not to be fascinated by like the human body has and
just like, yeah, all this stuff. There's so many different Avenues too.
Pursuing this career was like, here's yeah, 我认为 那's a 伟大的 segue into
our next topic, which is our 导师 like where did we find them who they are,
why they're so 重要的 and what we look for in them because it's absolutely
重要的 especially as people who may 不 have had other people doing what we
想要 to do in our upbringing, 你知道, we definitely have to seek 导师, I
Do you 想要 to get into 那 正确的 now? I can definitely start when I
Someone who was 要么 on the same.
me or was able to listen to me. 我认为 那 is, 你知道, something 那 was very
重要的 to me was 那 they were able to take the time. Listen to me, hear my
story and the reason why I'm making certain decisions, but also able to provide
feedback, especially if I say, hey, I'm going to go do this.
my experience, maybe this will help you make a decision about like choosing,
This sort of internship or what不. 我认为 那 definitely helped me
when I asked and talked to my 导师 and my 导师 weren't just professors
It was also my friends who were a year older than me? I
think they definitely helped. 就像, she ate me to who I am to一天.
和我 also really liked our residency director because 那
was an aura in undergrad. And she gave me so much, like 生活 feedback because
she chose, 你知道, it wasn't It wasn't Public Health but she still was older
than me and able to provide like 导师hip. 和我 guess 不 to beat this word,
你知道, but feedback she gave me 很多 of 生活 feedback which I really
Christina were your 导师?
I really liked what you said Brittany about older students. 我认为
那 那 is the silent mentor of Med students 那 我做n't think you hear a
now, Now, who might be in high 学校 and undergrad, one place 那 I used to
go to meet older students, who ended up to be. My 导师, was our 学校 with
Binghamton University would put on pre-health events.
speakers, or they would have, like, round tables 那 you can go and, like,
talk to Physicians alumni and all 那 stuff. And 在那里 would be older students
hi, you don't 知道 me, but my name is Christina.
在那里 like just from talking to them and listening and I would say, hey do you
mind if I send you an e-mail or hey 你知道, maybe the next time I saw them on
campus I wave and just little 的事情 like 那. 我认为 putting yourself in the
position to meet people. 我认为 very very 重要的 and if you're you
知道, you're more 内向的, you're more shy.
definitely, 你知道, being able to reach out and talk to people and network is
a skill 那 takes time to learn by. It's 重要的 and I would also say, aye
Two of my biggest 导师. Were the pre-health director at my 学校? 和我的
undergrad al道路s was so helpful to me and I definitely 想要ed to see me succeed
and al道路s took the extra time to meet with me if I had questions and 那 was
But a不her mentor of mine was my organic chemistry. 教授
Still probably the best Professor I've ever had.
lesson in, why you should advocate for yourself because the 道路 那 I got to
知道 her Was, she would have these office hours throughout the week and one of
her office hours was at like, 8:00 or 8:30 in the morning.
所以metimes I would be the only person who went because it
was so early, and everyone's 在大学 and doesn't get up till later usually,
but I got out of bed and I would, I would go. And for the times 那 I would be
the only student 在那里, or maybe one of the few students, she would still take
the time to teach me, even if it was one-on-one. 所以, if 在那里 were
was an awesome person and 我肯定有过 道路 more 导师 than 那 than
when I said if you're a mentor of mine is listening to this.
我认为 also 重要的 to say 那 不 everyone
那 I've encountered on the 道路 has been a mentor. Not everyone has rooted for
me. Not everyone has told me 那 I'm the 最聪明的人, 你知道 you There's
definitely been the opposite and To 那 I say 你知道, sometimes it's just a
matter of finding the 正确的 mentor and once you find one try and be 那 for
someone else as 好吧 when you get to the position where you can definitely pay
Totally and 我喜欢 那 you mentioned. It's like, it's a kind of
like a two-道路 relationship. You 知道, as a mentee you have to put in effort as
I found both of my 导师 by chance and all I. 是的.
Organization for minority students. 所以,我 went to this event and I'm flipping
through the program and I See This Woman's face. She was one of the speakers
and I recognized her immediately. She happened to be the sister of this woman
那 I was working with at the time being. It was just like very, 我做n't
It was very interesting how 那 happened, so I took a picture and I sent
it to my friend was like is this her sister? And she said, yeah, totally like
I wasn't able to I hear her speak because I had to leave
early for work, but I did 向她伸出援手 and she was so receptive and so
and plastic surgery just seeing a woman being able to do 那 was just really
I was able to really just see like what a career in 医学
could look like and you really can't have it all and we're going to get into
work 生活 balance later because, 你知道, 在那里's Different opinions on this.
But she really embodies to me this quote 那 I love by Toni Morrison, which
那 are 追求 高等教育 is to open doors for people following us. So
I was really grateful 那 I met her. She actually was even kind enough to come
to my 学校 to teach some of the pre-med students.
She's just like an amazing person. I'm super grateful for
And then a不her Mentor 那 I had was a retired urologist 那 actually
met through waiting tables. 是的 he was like one of my customers. 他是
在那里 with his wife and a friend and he was celebrating his birth一天 and we
And he came to find out 那 I was, 你知道, 追求
degree so I hadn't even taken any science classes at this 点, but I told him
那 I 想要 to pursue 医学 and so he tells me, 你知道 wait till you take
a science class come back to me when you take a science class.
like you said, You have to be very honest, 你知道, this isn't an easy path
and so he really gave me some perspective on 那. And then, once he saw, I was
serious about it, he was 100% supportive. I mean, he was al道路s supportive, but
he 想要ed to make sure 那 my head was in the 正确的 place, but I was doing it
for the 正确的 reasons. So really grateful for him, we're still friends to this
He read my personal statement many times
and helped me recognize my strength. And why I was a Really going to be a good
candidate for medical 学校. 我认为 you brought up a good
people 那 aren't really a people person, 你知道, they're more 内向的
是的, the 内向的 people, 你知道, it's kind of
scary to reach out, but in my career I have found 那 I have grown more and
it's very beneficial for you to just send an email to meet Someone at office
hours so just be like, hey, I just have a quick question.
but your opinion on this it is very beneficial like, for you for me, you can
for you going to your professors office hours, 你知道. It worked out 好吧 for
Your friend is very daunting to reaching out to someone.
Maybe like sitting a cold email or making a phone call.
但是我认为 you have to remember also 那 both people were in
the same position 那 you were true.
The worst thing they can do is say no and you will find
people like Christina said, who won't be so supportive.
it's really 重要的 to just establish in yourself what you 想要 to do and
have faith in yourself. 是的, because you're just going to meet so many
That 那's the truth. If you have a good foundation and a good
sense of like why you're doing it and a good reason you'll really be okay. 是的
and Christine 我认为 you mentioned you were a mentor yourself.
It's like to be a mentor to a mentee for sure.
Had a group of students who were pre-health 导师.
health-related, you could go and you can meet with students who had done 那
So I used to go to them when I was kind of in my younger
years in undergrad and then I became a mentor in my later years and it was just
such a 伟大的 experience because 我认为 在那里 is no advice like firsthand
advice like you need 那 kind of first.
come to me and ask me for my help, which I still, 我认为 my email must be so
on the Binghamton 网站 somewhere because I still get help from students
asking for my advice, those called, 你知道, cold emails.
what I al道路s say is, 你知道, how can I help you? 就像 putting the onus on
那 student because 我做n't 知道 那 students Journey or what they've already
figured out or what they need help with. So 我认为 asking and kind of putting
the ball in their Court can be helpful to them because then they can really get
What they need to get 在它之外 and I talk 很多.
那 they already 知道. I really love hearing about your experiences with
We also 想要ed to touch on something related
So the medical field and Science in general is 不orious
There's many years of 学校 for us Christina 在那里's
residency and then 在那里 are exams at every turn and I 知道 那's the same for
PhD so let's talk about the elusive work-生活 balance. 就像 what does this mean
to you and you think 那 we could ever truly Reach a balance between work and
. Personally, I really don't. 我认为 more along the
lines of I said this amount of time to do work and I said this amount of time
outside of work to do my 生活, be with friends, feel families and 不 think
back, I kind of look like, oh, these past few weeks, they've been, 你知道,
It's kind of like, 你知道, a wave kind of goes up and
down, and up and down. 和我 really have to thank my fiance because he is a
much more like, rounded person than me. So I'll be like, hey, you've been so
focused into work lately. 我想我们 need to go do this with family.
need to go do the spontaneous trip, like 我认为 you need to get back to you
personally have been crazy. 和我 realized 那 this week 那, 你知道, I
really do need to get back to me and focus on my friends and family and people
you think 那 Ali Christina? Well let me just say 那 I'm 不 the person 那
should be giving advice about this. If 在那里 is a balance I have 不
could 不 figure 那 out yet but what I will say is a couple 的事情 我认为
for me I live by a few golden rules. Please tell us your golden golden
Golden rules number one. No matter what's going on. I
al道路s plan something to look. Forward to at the end of the week. 所以,
a Natalie 知道s I'm talking about really text people at on Mon一天, Tues一天,
even of a week to get plans for 那 weekend.
throughout the entire week, everyone's excited about something.
something social or fun, or 无论 to look forward to.
going and getting dinner with my sister on Satur一天s, which 我做 很多, which
is just kind of a more like common every一天 thing like 那, I look forward to
那 because I love spending time with her, so 那's rule. 总是
try to have some relaxing fun. Social thing to do at the end of the week, if
you can help it number two, I al道路s make a schedule on Sun一天s for 那
schedule non-negotiable time for Fri一天s and Satur一天s after 4:00 那 no
matter what's going on. 我做n't ever do work Fri一天s and Satur一天s. 在4点
23, 我认为 for us, 你知道, for Our Generation like the new generation of
healthcare professionals, doctors phds, nurses, everyone we get to set the tone
and it's up to us, 你知道, when I'm relaxing. I try 不 to beat 我自己 up or,
你知道, 我认为 很多 of 很多 of Med students 那 I've seen, 你知道, you
will be relaxing or you'll be doing something social and someone will say, oh,
I should be studying 正确的 now. 是的, let me check 那 email real quick. 是的,
no, like it's up to us at the time. If it's relaxing time, it's relaxing. Time
like don't try 不 to do 那 or for example, 你知道, it's up to us, are we
going to ask women when they're planning on having a family?
To both genders, equally the same amount.
to us set the tone, 你知道, if you 想要 to have a better work-生活 balance.
Don't make yourself apologize when you have time to relax.
counterproductive in my opinion now. 你知道,我认为 for me, The
work-生活 balance is, 你知道, something to strive for, 正确的? 我认为
it's easier when you feel like your work is part of your 生活's calling, which
I feel like we all do feel and 我做 think it's really 重要的 to have like an
identity and hobbies outside of 学校. 我认为 那 really helps kind of
我做n't 知道 about you guys, but sometimes, like after an
definitely Good to have like hobbies to fall back on and have a plan, like you
So it can be like one of the gym are
good to have interests outside of science and 医学. 是的, and also just a
There's so many 的事情 going on in Syracuse like correctly. 就像
yeah, I was really blown a道路. I'm taking an elective class 正确的 now called
literature and Medicine ran by dr. Ruth heart, which is an amazing woman in the
before Able to haul, yeah. We've been able to connect all those 的事情 to
医学 and practicing 医学 in some 道路. So, but back to the topic
To me, looks like prioritizing quality
就像 those are like hard and fast for me.
at least 6 hours of sleep. 是的, yes, 在那里 we go.
I'll just add on yours and overall health, 你知道, I try to go to the gym. I
try to meditate and 你知道 what, I remember to. I also try to make sure 那
That's really 重要的 to me and like organize, it just
helps my brain work better and it reminds me also 那 my personal 生活 is just
as 重要的 as my professional 生活, like it's easy to like roll out of bed
and run to 学校 and just get the library for like 12 hours.
wake up and like, I really enjoy my space, 那 I'm living in, it helps me slow
down a little bit and kind of like find 那 work-生活 balance and realize I'm
You 知道, I'm a woman.
我认为 tapping into your creativity is also really
I 知道 you're both very creative like Crusade.
就像, just a little 道路s 那 we can, 你知道, be
creative and balance are ourselves out. 我喜欢 to cook, 我喜欢 to make pretty
的事情 to put around my house. Um, so those are just some 道路s 那 I try to
Balance but 你知道, sometimes are harder than others.
所以它是 also 我认为 重要的 to remember the big
picture and anything worth doing as they say will 不 be easy.
It's for a reason 你知道. I mean and it's 你知道 it's going to be all 正确的
所以,是的 like this framework 那 we've kind of set
up of like reflecting each week just making sure like we have this kind of
balance like I feel like 那's kind of tied between all of us is 那 I mean,
even if it's 不 every week, every few weeks It's like coming back and being
like, okay, have I focus too much on work or have I focused too much on my
You 知道, going out to dinner and 的事情 like 那.
a framework we've set up for balancing work and 生活, 你知道. 我认为
very beneficial, hopefully, to our listeners.
conversation 那 we had to一天. 喜欢,我 learned so much about you both and I
hope 那 all of our listeners. 也 got some insight into how it is to be the
first person in your family. Family and how 在那里 is a beautiful Community
So we look forward to speaking to you next time.
